It's preventive for your health! This makes it one of the best forms of exercise you can choose! But the snow doesn't last forever, yet you can continue training by choosing roller skiing for the rest of the year. Studies show that varied terrain and hills are necessary to achieve the same excellent training effect on roller skis as on snow. RollerSafe is the perfect choice for achieving safe training all year round. You can go on steeper and more challenging terrain \u2013 getting in better shape, faster!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together with student Fredrik Frossdal at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, we conducted a project to assess the training effect and work economy of roller skiing. In this article, we highlight some key factors that affect the effective training you can get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cross-country skiing is effective and gentle exercise<\/strong><br>Cross-country skiing is considered an activity with low risk of acute injury. This form of exercise improves heart function, affects metabolism, and is anti-inflammatory. You achieve the same positive effects by using roller skis in the summer. There is no equivalent injury statistics for roller skiing, but it is known that braking on asphalt is a major obstacle and is considered a risk factor for many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Training in varied terrain provides better and faster effects<\/strong><br>Skiing in varied terrain allows for high-intensity training, and with roller skis with brakes, this form of training is possible all year round. It is not uncommon for roller ski training to be monotonous because walking in varied terrain increases the risk of injury, but with RollerSafe, it is possible to achieve the same training effect all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research data indicates that you double the training effect per hour with higher pulse, which is difficult to achieve on roller skis without going uphill. Roller ski trails are often adapted for training in hilly terrain (for example, Holmenkollen), but very few athletes use the trails in the summer. RollerSafe has a user-friendly and integrated solution that makes braking easy and safe even in varied terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Optimal brakes for optimal training<\/strong><br>Previously, there were few good brake options for roller skis, and mastering the activity required a lot of training. Fortunately, there are now roller ski brakes, which make it safer for both beginners and experienced skiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The choice is between mechanical brakes and electric ones. Mechanical brakes work within controlled use, but they have clear limitations when it comes to speed, terrain, and surface. This often results in solutions that require especially good balance or body control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RollerSafe with electronic brakes provides a significantly more user-friendly brake that does not place the same demands on the skier's skills or area of use.
