SmartBrake rim brake kit – Perfect for an independent cyclist!

SmartBrake is delivered fully vented and ready to use according to your specifications. Following your order, you will receive an email with questions regarding cable lengths. If you already know the cable lengths, these can be entered when paying in the shopping basket. See our installation guide for where the brake unit should be placed. 

When SmartBrake is mounted, it will replace one of the bike's original brakes. 

Brake controllers shipped with DHL are delivered without battery due to delivery restrictions through the postal company. The battery used is a 3V CR2032. 

Brake Unit

The brake unit is hydraulically connected to one or two calipers and is controlled by the controllers included in your set. If your bike is not equipped with hydraulic brakes, all our products will still fit.

Rim brake

We supply Magura HS11, which is mounted above the wheel and brakes by clamping on the rim. Please note that your bike must have two mounting points on the fork as shown in the images below to be able to use this.

Disc brake for one wheel

Here you get Magura MT5 that fits all brake discs.

Disc brake for two wheels

Choose between one brake unit connected to Tektro Auriga Twin's twin calipers and a splitter for controlling two wheels simultaneously. Or two brake units connected to each mirrored Tektro Auriga caliper for control from two different controllers. See our size guide if you are unsure of what to choose.

Brake remotes

These controllers are adapted for both large and small hands and feature graduated braking. We have made the lever as light as possible for everyone to use throughout the movement, so there is no variation in resistance in the lever during graduation. This may feel a bit unusual at first if you are used to mechanical levers, but it is something all our users have quickly become accustomed to.

All SmartBrake remotes include a function to activate parking brake!

Brake Lever Slim

The brake lever is suitable for those who struggle to use a normal brake lever and want one that is easier to squeeze.

Thumb Brake

The thumb brake is suitable for those who have better function in their thumb than their fingers, or for those who have functionality on only one side of the body. The thumb trigger can be mounted alongside an original brake lever and used with the same grip. Many companions also like to use this controller as a mounted companion brake on the bike handlebars when they are cycling with the user.

Hand Controller

This button-controlled controller has a neck strap and is easy to take on the go, both in hand and in your pocket.

SWITCH

We call it SWITCH because the lever acts as a dead man's switch. Hold the lever to roll freely and release to stop. This cannot be used together with an escort control. Read more about why therapists have requested this control here.
