Roller skiing is one of the best ways to maintain your skiing technique outside of winter. At the same time, many people don't start or stop because it feels unsafe to pick up speed on downhill slopes, at junctions or on rough tarmac. RollerSafe is designed to solve just that: give you better control over speed and stopping, so you can train more, more often and with less risk.
What is RollerSafe?
RollerSafe is a roller ski system developed for increased safety and predictable speed control. The aim is to make roller skiing more accessible to more people, whether you're a beginner who wants to get started or an experienced skier who wants to train hard without feeling that every downhill is a gamble.
At the heart of RollerSafe is a more controlled experience in situations where roller skis are traditionally perceived as most demanding:
- when the speed gets high
- when the surface varies
- when you need to brake quickly and controlled
How RollerSafe brakes
RollerSafe is designed to give you braking that feels natural in a roller skiing session, without complicated grips or mechanical solutions that interfere with your technique.
The system consists of three main parts:
- A wireless brake rigger which is mounted on the rod
- A receiver on the roller ski that receives the signal
- A hydraulic pump which activates the brake
When you press the brake trigger on the wand, it sends a radio frequency wireless signal to the ski. This signal initiates a hydraulic pumpwhich brakes directly on the rim of the wheel.
To make this both robust and efficient, RollerSafe has been developed with special wheelsthe the rim acts as a brake disc. It provides a precise and powerful braking point without making the solution unnecessarily complicated.
In addition, the the rubber compound in the tyres designed to withstand braking without unnecessary wear and tear on the tyres, and without compromising on rolling feel and handling.

Who is RollerSafe suitable for?
RollerSafe is particularly suitable for:
1) Beginners on roller skis
If you're unsure about balance, speed or braking, the threshold is often high. RollerSafe is designed to lower the threshold and make the learning curve safer.
2) Exercise enthusiasts who want to train without stress
Many people want effective training, but also want to return home safe and sound. RollerSafe is relevant for those who want better control on slopes, in traffic and on varying surfaces.
3) Skiers who train purposefully
Even experienced athletes may want a safer setup for some sessions, such as leisurely long runs, technique sessions, or sessions in areas with more traffic and intersections.
4) Clubs, coaches and groups
When a coach is responsible for several levels at the same time, safety and control are a big part of everyday life. RollerSafe can make it easier to organise joint sessions where levels vary.
Training benefits: smoother session, better effect
An important but often underestimated benefit of increased security is that the training effect can increase.
Many roller skiers take unconscious "safety breaks":
- stopping and putting on/taking off skis before and after slopes
- going down hills instead of rolling
- take long breaks at junctions and exposed sections to "reset" your heart rate
The result is that you lose the flow of the session and often also the important heart rate peaks. With better control, you can stay in motion to a greater extent, train more coherently and get a more "clean" and effective session, both for capacity and technique.

Typical situations where RollerSafe makes a difference
Here are some specific examples of when users often find that RollerSafe changes their experience:
- Downhill slopes: More control on the fly allows you to keep the technique instead of "surviving".
- Intersections and traffic: When you need to slow down quickly and predictably, it gives you extra peace of mind.
- Rough tarmac or uneven ground: Less stress when the surface isn't perfect.
- Training on your own: When you have no-one beside you, peace of mind is even more important.
- Rehabilitation and return after injury: Calm progression with a focus on control and safety.

Why was RollerSafe developed?
The reason is simple: roller skiing is fantastic exercise, but is perceived as risky for many. For some, it's about previous falls. For others, it's enough to see how fast they can go down a hill. When fear governs technique and choice of routes, training becomes both less enjoyable and less enjoyable.
RollerSafe is designed to make roller skiing more inclusive: more people should be able to participate, train and develop, without safety being a constant concern.
Status now: temporarily out of stock, new version under development
RollerSafe is temporarily sold out because several key components are not available right now. At the same time, we are looking ahead and working on a upgraded, new version by RollerSafe.
We have no confirmed launch date yet, but earliest expectation is 2027.
