In 2020, our partner at Parasport Hub, Viljar Aasan from the Beitostølen Health Sports Center, investigated the extent to which activity aids were used. Some of the key findings were: surveyed in 2020 to what extent activity aids were used. Some of the key findings were:

- Some of the main factors affecting usage were motivation and mastery, the degree of adaptation of the aid, and training either at an institution or locally. Additionally, the need for a companion during activities was a central factor.
The goal of SmartBrake is to help more people experience joy and mastery through increased activity. SmartBrake is easy to adapt to a variety of activity aids, from regular bikes, special bikes, wheelchairs, sledges, and pushchairs. SmartBrake can be operated by users with severely reduced hand function or by companions from a distance to give the user a greater sense of achievement.
