Roller ski brakes: RollerSafe information and servicing

RollerSafe roller skis being used outdoors.

A search for roller ski brakes can mean several things: learning how to brake, finding equipment or getting help with skis you already own. This guide covers RollerSafe product information, documentation and servicing. It is not an instruction in braking technique.

Can I buy RollerSafe now?

RollerSafe is not available for purchase. SmartGroup is developing a new version and continues to service existing RollerSafe equipment. No launch date is confirmed. Joining the newsletter is not an order or a reservation.

Roller skis with integrated braking

The brake function is part of the RollerSafe system. That does not make it a universal accessory for other roller skis. When exploring equipment with brakes, ask about the exact model, controls, usage limits and support. An older product article should not be treated as the current instruction manual.

Do you already own RollerSafe?

Find the model information and the manual that applies to your skis. For questions about brakes, wheels, controls or software, a clear description of the equipment and what you observe is more useful than “the brake does not work”. If there is a fault or uncertainty about braking, clarify further use with SmartGroup or the responsible service provider.

  • Provide the model and serial number if available.
  • Describe what you observe and when it happens.
  • Identify the controller, software or app version if known.
  • Include previous service work and changes that may be relevant.

Agree service arrangements before shipping

Contact SmartGroup first for an assessment, pricing and practical instructions. Do not send equipment before the destination and shipment are agreed. Photographs can help identify a product, but do not replace inspection of the braking system.

Where can I find braking technique advice?

Use instruction appropriate to your equipment and experience. General online tips cannot establish that a technique or route is suitable. We therefore do not give exercises, speeds or stopping distances without the relevant product documentation.
