Companion-assisted braking for children: individual assessment

Assess the need for companion-assisted braking
Children may have different needs when a bicycle is selected or adapted. A diagnosis alone does not determine which braking solution or configuration is suitable.
Clarify who will operate the brake, which bicycle will be used and the companion’s role. SmartBrake is available in configurations with wireless companion control.

Assess the bicycle and setup together
Speak to the therapist or professional who knows the child’s needs and to the bicycle supplier. The assessment must include compatibility, installation, operation and the product’s intended purpose.
