For manufacturers and partners
Technology and adaptations for cycles and activity equipment
Developing an adapted cycle, an assistive product or activity equipment? Start with the intended activity, controls and the product you want to adapt.
Explore integration and adaptation
SmartBrake offers different approaches to cycle brake control. GripAdapt addresses brake lever positioning. Discuss the specific platform, interfaces and applicable documentation with us before selecting a solution. Compatibility must be assessed for the actual configuration.

An example from our testing
In a published test, SmartGroup compared SmartBrake Hybrid with the original braking system on an adapted adult tricycle. The article describes the setup, different ways to activate the brake and measured stopping distances. The results apply to that test; they do not establish performance or compatibility on other cycle platforms.

Develop a part or an adaptation
We 3D print soft and hard materials in-house and collaborate with specialists in software and electronics. For other materials and production methods, we can obtain quotations from external manufacturing partners. The process, materials and delivery are agreed for each project.
Distribution, demonstrations and activity
For Spike, tell us about the activity, surface, intended model and market. Distribution and demonstrations are separate from development of new components. RollerSafe is under development and is not available for purchase; we continue to offer service for existing equipment.
A useful first conversation
A short description is enough to start. If available, include the product or cycle model, the control or grip challenge, intended activity and market. We can then agree which technical documents, tests and responsibilities need clarification before a prototype or pilot.
